Loved our stay here. Rooms bright and breezy with everything you would need. Pretty hotel in good location and easy walk to York minster. Friendly team and great breakfast. Will definitely stay again

We booked to spend 3 nights at Ascot House to celebrate our wedding anniversary and explore York. The manageress was most welcoming and helpful. We had booked to visit the Railway Museum, York Minster and Tower, and the Cold War Bunker (EH) in advance of our stay. Our ground floor room was quiet, and looked out onto a little courtyard. The bed was really comfortable so we slept well. There was ample hanging space and drawers for clothes storage. The bathroom was modern, super clean, brightly lit, and had an immensely powerful shower over the bath, to wake us up in the morning! Great breakfast selection including thin cheese slices and cold meats, in addition to the fresh fruit salad, seeds, yoghurt, fresh fruit, cereals, fruit juices, croissants, rolls, toast, jams, marmalade..... Porridge was available if liked, made to order. A full English breakfast (or parts of) with fried bread and black pudding, if desired? My husband chose the latter each morning, whereas, as a vegetarian/pescetarian, I had scrambled eggs with mushrooms. The only additions I would have liked would be cold bottled (glass) water in the bedroom, as I always get thirsty during the night, plus a fish choice at breakfast. Other than that, Ascot House couldn't be faulted. We walked everywhere as the location is so convenient for the York sights. A lot of international guests there, so the word has spread! Thank you for a memorable stay and your hospitality.

This is THE best B&B I have ever stayed at. You receive the warmest of the welcomes in a very homely, beautiful house. The rooms are immaculate and well equipped. Had an excellent nights sleep after venturing in to York for dinner which is 5 minutes away. Breakfast is excellent. Property is also dog friendly. I will return! ☺️
