Goodramgate Apartments

We found our apartment, Hadrian’s Den, to be spacious, conveniently loacted and clean. It was great to have two bedrooms and two bathrooms for our family. The kitchen is well stocked, the internet was good and the bathrooms were good sized. The flat is in close walking distance to Clifford’s Tower, the Shambles and the Minster. It faces the street, so expect some street noise. There are lots of good restaurants and pubs nearby. The two areas of improvement would be the main bed mattress, which was slightly concave on one side and convex on the other. And the main shower floor moves under your weight and cracks are starting to appear. With those addressed we’d definitely stay here again.

Spacious apartment, centrally located. BUT. the apartment was hermetically sealed, there was no fresh air and it was very warm and stuffy. There was a fan in each room, these were noisy and just moved warm air around. Also had issues getting the entry keycode. Dont have email on my phone and the keycode could only be sent out on email at 3.00pm. Was not made aware of either of these issues at time of booking. Customer service were not helpful. Would not stay again. - shame, because these are lovely apartments

This is the third time we have stayed at these apartments and unfortunately this time round left me a little disappointed on a couple of things.I missed a phone call before check in so called back I was told my security deposit payment had been declined ( even though I had received my email confirmation that this had all been processed and it was showing on my account)in a panic as we had already arrived in York i explained to the gentleman on the phone that I had received this and this must be a mistake. I asked him to hold whilst I made sure I was correct and he proceeded with it could be the email has been sent but it’s not authorised and my the payment has not gone through. When I asked the amount it was much more than what was on my email so I questioned this also as the deposit amount was actually close to what I I paid for our room.I gave my name again as I was certain he had been mistaken and infact it was a mix up ( both our names began with a K) and it was for a stay in one of the bigger apartments.I did not get any apology after this discrepancy and the call ended quite abruptly in my opinion. Once we arrived in our apartment the hallway smelt awful it was a strong sewage smell which was not great in the heat very off putting and the floors were not clean or the cutlery and glasses in kitchen, on a positive the location is fantastic and the terrace was nice on the warm evening.
