PIGGOLETTA

Came to the Castle for a family wedding, which by the way was exceptional the staff couldn't do enough for us and added to the special day. My only concern was the room ( tulip ) for the £372 for two nights I paid it was small and not very clean, all plugs were ground level making it difficult to plug in the kettle, don't even look behind the bedside table, the shower cubicle was mouldy. The breakfast was very average, no warm rolls just sliced bread for toast not what I would have expected for the money. Also check your bill before paying a few of us had drinks on that weren't ours but to be fair they were quickly refunded.

Lovely hotel and grounds with amazing staff. I would just mention that breakfast seemed overly expensive, in fact it cost us more than dinner, which is a first. It was nice but not out of this world for the price. Also, as a dog owner, I am not sure the library was conducive to eating a meal with sofas and a low table. Otherwise, a very pleasant stay.

Your Review: The location and building is absolutely stunning, the communal areas are all warm and welcoming, and a pleasure to walk around or relax in. I was however disappointed in the room (Old Tom), some areas were not up to the standard I would expect for a 4 star hotel. The chair was highly stained, there were marks/stains on the net curtains, a thick layer of dust behind the bedside tables and the shower gel was used and empty. On the positive side the bed although only a double bed was very comfortable the pillows and bedding were excellent quality. My biggest compliment has to go to the amazing team of staff, for the moment we arrived on the Friday night for our sons, wedding they did an amazing job. The bar and waiting staff on both the Friday night in the restaurant and throughout the wedding day were exceptional. We had a lovely memorable stay and with a few areas of improvement in your rooms it would definitely be worth the price and 4 star rating.
