Holmlea Guest House

Stayed here for two nights in April. Very clean. Lovely hosts. We had a very warm welcome. Yummy breakfast served to your room and close to town centre... about a 15 min walk. Loved it. Also free parking.

Lovely guest house. Comfortable bed with all the facilities you need in a room with quirky decor. Fantastic location just a short walk from the city centre with all the amenities you need close by. To top it off the complimentary breakfast was a lovely touch. Will definitely be staying again!!

We arrived and the check in was over a phone which was okay, room was at top of building so a little walk up some stairs, room was standard size and had everything thing you need for a night or two stay (we stayed for 2 nights) there was a little mark on bed and the sheet had a tiny hole in but the beds were comfy and I liked having a socket by bed, the bathroom was quite small but that was alright as I've seen smaller bathrooms in guesthouses, bathroom door was a little complicated to get locked shut. And the view from the room was just the road outside. As the room was on top floor ceiling was quite Low so I did bang my head once but that was my own fault for not looking where celling was. Breakfast was nice continent options delivered to your room by a friendly chap so it's basically room service. We then arrived back again at guesthouse for 2bd night after exploring Yorkshire and we were quite tired so we chilled then went to bed, the 2nd night we were a little cold because I think I accidentally turned heating of I beileve. We didn't relise we had to book breakfast for both days so we didn't get it until we phoned them but they had breakfast up to us within 5 minutes, upon checking out we were greeted by staff and were on away to train station to go home. Forgot to mention did have free wifi but it was a little slow. P.s: hotel location is alright 20 minutes walk or 7 minute drive to centre of town and little Sainsbury's local and takeaways 10 min walk round corner, overall this hotel was 6/10 average. :-|
