There’s a lot to say about this hotel and sadly not all of it is good. The room we were assigned was a little more tatty than I would have expected from a Mercure hotel. There were numerous defects such as missing veneer on the bedside table, threads coming loose from the carpet and a missing handle on the wardrobe door. Curiously the telephone in the room had its handset unplugged. We wouldn’t have used it anyway but what is up with that? Forget about the defects as there is so much more to this delightful hotel. The room wasn’t all bad. It was surprisingly spacious which we appreciated. The usual tea and coffee making facilities were present. There were lots of information pamphlets in the room. You get the option to opt out of having the room serviced, a feature I always appreciate. I was impressed with the quality of the food. Both at breakfast and in the restaurant it was delicious. The staff were amazing. Helpful and friendly. The lobby of this hotel is amazing. It’s quite a spectacle. There is plenty of parking. The hotel is also dog friendly.

Loved it here, arranged a group annual booking for my angel girls & dealt with Beth all the way through, she was fab, very helpful. On arrival we were greeted by lovely staff, the lounge area & breakfast area was lovely. The rooms are a little tired but that doesn't put this review down as the staff go above & beyond. There was Martin & Ondrea on late shift who were a great laugh. Then on Saturday night we had Aman, Kamal & Ganesh who were brilliant, made us laugh, served us so well & even joined in & had a laugh with us. Honestly the staff make this hotel & should be looked after. Thank you all.

The hotel staff here are the nicest I’ve ever encountered. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. The bedroom furniture was tired looking but I couldn’t fault the cleanliness of the bedroom, reception or the dining room.
