Premier Inn York North

Stayed here with my husband for a complete chill weekend… watching tv, walks around the area, meals in the nearby pub. It did the job!. Guy in reception really helpful.. supplied us with towels on request. Also there are tea, coffee, sugar, milk extras in reception. Free carpark if you register car reg at reception. We stayed on the second floor. Room was spacious and very clean. Wi-Fi ok. Really comfy bed. Fan available if too hot. Radiator on wall if too cold. The wall mounted TV needs to be more central but other than that we couldn’t find a fault with anything. Bathroom with walk in shower that was good but sink taps just sprayed a fine water spray… annoying but appreciate it is to save water. Easy access to “ The Dormouse” pub next door which served meals and has a lovely outdoor area. A bonus since all Premier Inn restaurants have closed ( whats that about?). We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

Booked a premier plus room and it was disgusting. Cob webs dead spiders.. Stains on carpets ripped chair broken tv and dusty.we were moved to room which is not much better.broken coffee machine and fridge.do not stop at this hotel. By far the worst premier inn I have ever stopped in.will definitely not be back.

The best thing I can say about this premier inn is the location . Very quiet and has a decent pub opposite for a drink or evening meal . The rooms are decent enough but would be better if cleaned properly, the bathroom was clean at first glance but when looking closer the floor wasn’t clean and there were hairs blocking up the shower drain ..which even after I removed the hairs didn’t drain thus flooded the whole floor .This had obviously been happening for a while as the side of the cabinet housing the toilet cistern was rotting away . The heating was also impossible to control, by the thermostat in the room, we had to have the window open as it was 24 degrees on the room. The toilet in the main reception was apparently a disgrace and hadn’t been cleaned since the previous Wednesday, this was now Saturday…we overheard a customer complaining to member of staff about this as they left the hotel but nothing was done . The hall carpet was dirty when we arrived and was still dirty 3 days later. The staff were polite but visibly bored with their jobs and really couldn’t care less, no warm welcome or goodbye as you left , customer service obviously not high on their agenda. We paid for two days breakfasts at 17.98 per person which looking what was offered was very expensive, we had to ask for the buffet dishes to be refilled as they were empty upon arrival and the hot water dispenser was out of order the whole time which meant people had to queue to boil the kettle for a hot drink. Overall this was not at all like the adverts , more like Fawlty Towers and very expensive. Think twice before booking and seek out another hotel if possible. Very dissatisfied and disappointed and will think twice before booking another premier inn.
