Shoulder of Mutton

Great pub full of character. Mark and Lynsey are very welcoming and friendly. Lynsey is an absolute star and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Breakfast was great and especially liked how your food order can be flexible. Room was hot due to the heat wave so the addition of a fan in the room would have helped. In saying that I am sure Lynsey would have provided one if we had asked.

We had a lovely overnight stay at the Shoulder of Mutton. It was a good location for a stop off when driving from the South to Northumberland. The bedroom was comfy and cosy and I had a great night's sleep. Dinner was very good, with homemade pies. The staff were friendly and helpful, dealing well with my dietary requirements ( I am lactose intolerant). We are looking forward to our next stay here.

Simple room, but clean tidy and well equipped with very friendly staff. Good hoe ade pub food and wonderful views ove rthe valley.
