The Wrea Head Hall Country House Hotel & Restaurant

We booked 5 cottages and were a party of 22. Lisa made the booking experience easy and couldn’t do enough for us. The cottages were ready early and we were advised accordingly which was very much appreciated. The cottages were well-equipped but the greatest asset was the swimming pool and hot tub which were opened from 8am til 9.30 pm and were well used by all family members. This was a great place for a family get together as each family had their own space but were also able to enjoy time all together with plenty of tables and chairs outside the cottages in the communal area. There’s also a fab Wendy house, swings and football nets. Something for everyone 😊

I very rarely write reviews,however I feel I have to here. My mum booked this break away for us all the 8 of us booked 3 cottages, 2 pet friendly and one in the courtyards. The cottages are IMMACULATE. I couldn't get over the standard of furniture, kitchen accessories cushions and decor etc and there are no signs of general wear and tear anywhere. They are presitine. The cleanliness of the whole site is amazing. The pool is well organised with a rota system, again clean with pool toys available to use. The hot tub is beautifully hot and a much welcomed addition after a long walk. The hosts are warm friendly accomodating but also leave you be to enjoy your holiday. The park the boys loved and the space around the site is safe and secure which was amazing for our boys. Added bonuses - the WiFi was superb from our cottage which kept an 8 year old very happy and it is so beautifully quiet you wouldn't believe there are several other cottages around you. This place has become a firm family favourite for us and a gem of a find and I can't thank you enough for such a wonderful break away. Highly recommended. Jade

My parents and i booked 6 days, 5 nights at Wrea Head Country Cottages from 22nd Dec - 27th Dec 2022. Lauren and Karl couldn't have welcomed us better. They literally had thought of every detail and decorated the cottage with tasteful Christmas decorations and a tree! It was clean, well organised, excellent location as you felt quite remote but actually its 10 minutes to the local village walking with access to 2 gorgeous pubs, a cafe and a shop. Ample parking and the highlight has to be the indoor pool and outdoor hot tub! On alternate days, it is free for all guests to use, then the other days you can book 1.5 hour private slots. However, over Christmas, they opened it up on Christmas and Boxing day for everyone. I say 'everyone' we were lucky as i went in every day and didn't see a single person so had the facilities to ourselves! I would highly recommend their other site (about 10 minute's drive) as they have other cottages but a beautiful restaurant and bar. We visited lots of locations during our stay - Scarborough, Filey, Whitby, Knaresborough and Malton so there's plenty to do. Inside the cottage itself it is beautifully decorated and high-quality finishes. A walk-in shower suited my dad and the kitchen was fully equipped. The freezer had been unplugged by accident but Lauren was only a text away and was round in 2 minutes with extra ice cubes!Unless you message them you don't feel 'watched' as they do live next door. Its a great balance of privacy but knowing they are easily accessible. I couldn't recommend this place enough.
