Location is ok- it’s a service station stop, so there is ample food facilities here. The staff here are amazing and probably the only good thing about this hotel. The hotel itself - I would say is more two star (definitely failing three star) and it’s really run down, damaged, broken furniture. The worst part is there is NOT a great supply of HOT water which is an ongoing unsolved reoccurring problem- this hotel has - so you’re literally forced to take cold showers which is really poor and inconvenient, we were moved room because our first room had NO WATER and the second room is the same. We will not be returning, under any circumstances and I think it’s fair for partial refund due to this issue which I will be contacting the hotel about.

Stayed at a few days inn and been pleasantly surprised but this one is absolutely awful!! Too hot is an understatement!! Contemplated sleeping in the car! A fan just doesn’t cut it I’m affraid, invest in some air con units . Had to have the window wide open which overlooked all the Lorries coming and going all night. End result…. No sleep, feel horrendous today and we used this as a stop gap on our journey to an event which we feel too tired to attend. Never again. I will say , the receptionist that greeted us was absolutely lovely!!!

We ended up staying here unexpectedly after getting stranded and needing somewhere convenient for the night. In that respect, Days Inn at Watford Gap served its purpose perfectly. Like many other reviewers have mentioned, the hotel is looking quite tired and could certainly benefit from a refresh. Some areas also could have been cleaner. However, if you're simply after a safe, convenient place to sleep during a long journey, it does the job. The biggest positive for us was the receptionist on duty when we arrived. He was genuinely lovely, incredibly helpful and provided a level of customer service that surpassed some of the high-end hotels I've stayed in. He turned what had been a stressful day into a much more pleasant experience, and he deserves recognition for that. Despite being located at motorway services, our room was surprisingly quiet, allowing us to get the rest we needed. The beds were also comfortable, which is exactly what you want from an overnight stop. This isn't a luxury hotel, and it doesn't pretend to be. It's a practical option that offers convenience when you need it most. With some investment and a little more attention to cleanliness, it could be much better. That said, thanks to the excellent staff member who looked after us and the good night's sleep we had, we'd remember this stay more positively than negatively.
