COMFORT

One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Literally held together with gaffer tape. Bathroom had broken toilet seat, loose shower screen and a tissue box hold on to the wall with tape - and this was their best category of room. The bar and restaurant were closed except for breakfast. The noise from outside was so bad I had to change rooms at 2am to get any sleep. New room wasn’t any better - lots of things broken/worn. I understand the hotel is about to change hands, the new owners have got a lot of work on their hands to get this up to standard. Should never be marketed as a 4 star hotel.

Stayed 1 night from the 2 booked but left my stay early. Staff were reasonably helpful but the interior is extremely dated, the bathrooms are tiny and not ventilated and I picked up a lot of bug bites too. They detail that there is a gym but it is tiny, even by hotel standards, and not worth the star that it no doubt generates them for the facility given

The location of this hotel is great though it can be noisy at night but that’s what you get in the city centre. My main issue was the fact that the room was very small and dominated by a huge wardrobe. I understand you can upgrade for a larger room but as it was a two night stay it was already very expensive. Anyway, I could live with the size of the room if it wasn’t for that huge wardrobe taking up so much space. The bathroom as well equipped and just as big as the bedroom! The building is old and has loads of character but that also means high ceilings and our room had thick cobwebs around light fittings and the skylight in the bathroom, I’m guessing because they’re hard to reach! The mattress has also seen better days and it felt like we were rolling to one side as it was collapsed on the edge. All the staff we came across were lovely and friendly and very happy to help!
