Just had lunch today 27 Aug . We had a lovely meal and the staff were friendly but professional. I thoroughly recommend Langar Hall. We shall be going again fairly soon . Very well done .

Just arrived home from a 2-night stay at Langar Hall.
I took my 93-year-old mother, who has mobility issues, but this was no problem.
The fantastic staff could not do enough for her.
The stay was perfect, and so was the food.
Thank you all at Langar; we will certainly be back.

We stayed on the dinner bed and breakfast offer. We had heard Langar Hall has a very good reputation and after looking at the reviews thought we’d give it a try. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Firstly the room although was very nice at first glance it had a few issues that could have been put right with some instruction. TV, shower and even the old fashioned door key. Unfortunately the shower just didn’t work properly and we were staying in one of the most expensive rooms. The heating stayed on all night which gave us a very restless night as well.
The Restaurant and bar area are very quirky typical of a country home which is to be expected. But having drinks it the sitting room is like sitting in someone’s front room. The cocktails were very good and the wine selection is also very good. The restaurant food was excellent but unfortunately the restaurant is only lit with candles at night so you can’t even see what you were eating. They probably think it is romantic but in fine dining you want to appreciate what the Chef has made. They have a beautiful chandelier and can’t understand why it’s not switched on. In most fine dining restaurants when the plate is put down normally the different elements of the dish are explained. Not here which is a shame. Our wine was £54 and they didn’t even pour it or offer us to taste it which is also not in keeping with fine dining. A lot of the younger staff looked very disinterested especially at breakfast. Overall I would say it wasn’t value for money. The overall experience cost over £400 and we came away very disappointed.
A tip don’t have the corner 2 seater tables it’s a bit of a squeeze.
The food photos have been took on night mode otherwise you wouldn’t be able to see the food which was a real shame as the chef does an excellent job.
