We booked through booking.com so only needed to pay around a week before going. We choose this as it was near Hook Norton and had a restruarant but wasn’t sure on breakfast.outside of the building looked clean, had ample seating area, car park was opposite for 4-5 cars ( a bit tight for anymore) on arrival went into pub there were 2 people drinking and we waited 10-15 for anyone to arrive. There was another couple waiting and when a man arrived straight away said “No Food” thought at the time as it was around 4pm. Next he showed us to the room - through a narrow corridor up stairs - room was spacious, double bed, shower, toilet, sink ( a little tight for anyone big) small tv on a shelf, tea / coffee with a kettle. The owner said that the chef had left around a month ago 🫢 therefore no restruarant and so no food ( that was fine as we were only there for the bed) when we got back at just before midnight there were4-5 under age boys in bar and 2-3 other people. We went straight upto room but you could hear them in the room as floor was directly over the pub area - the boys left on there bikes. Bed was comfortable but pillows to soft. Same there wasn’t any breakfast or even a light continential one 😟. we had to vacate the room by 11am but there was no one around and the pub/bar was all closed so didnt know what to do with the key??? you needed to make sure you had left nothing in room and leave key in door as the outside door 🚪 closed behind you and no way of getting back in !! I think the price of £87 was a bit extreme for the room and facilities and Booking.com should have made us aware of the fact there was no food available as they are still advertiseing on website there is a top notch restruarant. Also one of the plugs was dangerous as you couldn't use it very well? Think before you book and contact pub if you require food?

Sunday 5 Jul 26. After a lovely 30 minute walk over the fields from Bloxham to Milcombe, really enjoyed an excellent authentic Indian lunch at the Horse and Groom. Simply superb food (mainly Indian-themed menu) and the host and service were really outstanding.

An absolutely wonderful experience as we stumbled across this hidden gem, while on our way to the Cotswald. The food was extraordinary, best I have ever tasted. The staff was awesome- especially Maxine ! The owner was very attentive to our needs and the bonus was meeting the incredible Chef who had served up the delicious food! If you haven't discovered this place yet, go out and try and it. It will not disappoint!!!!
