BW JERSEY ARMS HOTEL

Photos on website are very misleading and need taking down. THE IS NO RESTAURANT OR BAR OR ELEGANT ROOMS. The hotel is very tired and in need of desperate refurbishment. The entrance is tucked away around the back through a side service door and you are met with a dull and shabby hall with a small reception hatch. The chap was very friendly and helpful and gave me the key to Room One. The positives were the room was huge, the bed comfortable and the towels clean. Sadly they were outweighed by a grubby carpet, mismatched furniture, wires pulling off the wall, badly finished decor, dusty skirting, leaking, stained toilet and blown bath trims. The rooms face a fairly busy road, so earplugs are a recommendation as the windows are badly fitting and single glazed. The breakfast room gave a reflection of how lovely the old place would have been. The "continental breakfast" comprised a selection of cash and cary bought items - cereal, cheap sliced bread for toasting, a few crumpets, croissants in plastic wrapping,and some less than average yoghurt pots. To add a positive, the coffee was half decent. Whoever owns this place needs to close and give it a serious upgrade, or post some honest photos.

AWFUL - Filthy rooms and outside accommodation. Car park with abandoned cars and dumped household rubbish !! NOTHING like photos online. Badly in need of refreshmen and cleaning. Positives: friendly man at reception who offered us another room after we complained. Got £30 refund once we asked for it. Negatives: carpets badly stained everywhere, furniture stained and broken, windowsills filthy, mirror in bathroom smeared, lightbulbs broken, toilet wouldn’t flush. Cushion covers on bed ripped and stained. Both rooms smelled. 1st room dark and dingy. 2nd room brighter but even more dirty. We didn’t stay any longer than 20 mins in total. Booked a different accommodation and left.

We arrived late in the evening and checked in. When we arrived in the room it was dirty and was falling apart. The elecrics looked unsafe and the window not secure. After debating what to do we ended up sleeping in the car as the room was so bad. There wasn't a member of staff in Reception so couldn't complain to them and we just left the keys in the around 5am when we drive home instead of spending the day in Bicester as we originally planned. A refund was refused.
