This hotel is located in a wonderful part of the world. Well placed for visiting iconic destinations such as Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Blenheim Palace. The atmosphere is good, nice and relaxed. Our room in the Mansion House was excellent, but that's what we paid for, and it definitely lived up to expectations. If you book the Mansion rooms, there are no lifts and you have to use the stairs, which is a massive staircase (if you have any mobility issues you might want to reconsider your choice and go for something in the South Wing (which does have lifts). Dining was a bit hit and miss to be honest. There are 3 different restaurants and we tried them all, we experienced a wide range of levels of satisfaction in terms of service ranging from very good, to "not so good". The food itself was "ok" but nothing special, nothing to write home about. Entertainment is mostly good. There are two venues (The Theatre and the Late Lounge) .. audio quality, seating etc is spot on. Would we go again ... yes indeed ... but you certainly need to choose your dates carefully (based on entertainment IMO).

We have stayed in Warner Hotels before and you are never disappointed with the quality of room and service. Heythrop continued that experience with a fantastic hotel that is in grounds that seem to go on forever (and include a golf course). Parking was easy and close by. The only slight niggle was that there were no ramps up to the main entrance that we could find so carrying heavy cases was a bit of an inconvenience. The room was super and spacious (a family member as a gift booked it for us so we don't know how much it was!) On a very hot period of the summer the room did not have air conditioning (Note: All rooms in the new part of the hotel - near the spa and they begin with 7*** - have air conditioning). But being the room had two big windows with sash windows you could open fully the lovely breeze and fresh air lulled us to sleep! Now to the entertainment: Boy were we impressed by the standard!! Three tribute acts. Brian Adams, Kylie and Spice girls all with absolutely cracking backing musicians. It really made a lovely end to the evening...which started with absolutely excellent food and service from the staff (Mona in Brasserie32 was an absolute joy to be served by!). Twice we went to Brasserie32 and both meals were excellent. Altogether we had an absolutely superb stay in a very comfortable and quality hotel. We WILL definitely return.
