Great location next to the castle and close to the city centre. Easy to walk to see the city. A very quirky and unique atmosphere with it being an old prison. My room was very comfy and clean. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Lovely outdoor seating area. Only negatives - parts of the room were starting to look a little shabby and I didn’t think the breakfast was worth the money. Would definitely stay here again but would skip breakfast.

We had a great stay at Malmaison in Oxford for only a night. All the staff were very professional and friendly. Adrean was especially excellent as we enjoyed their amazing breakfast adjacent to the bar. Do not miss the whimsical art by Nic Joly on the walls or the homemade granola and made-to-order breakfasts. Oh and Adrean clued us in to the original prison cell that has been kept intact. Great location, accommodations and staff!
