Logierait Pine Lodges

Found a little gem of a place. Lovely lodge with all that you need a few days stay near Pitlochry ( 5 miles into the centre) - very reasonably priced lots of complimentary aspects in a very peaceful location.

Stayed in 2 bedroom lodge summer 2026 Ok rather than luxury accommodation. 3 star rating seems fair. Good floor space. Some dated/tired looking fittings. Good points: Clean. Central location off the A9 if travelling for hillwalking. 20 miles north of Perth, 90 miles south of Inverness Good floor space with open plan lounge/dining table/kitchen South facing Good WiFi Dishwasher in lodge and laundry room at the main office. Not so great: Not a rural location. Next to main Aberfeldy road so bit of vehicle noise especially in morning from commercial traffic. Couldn’t change shower temperature in either direction, so warm rather than hot. Bathroom fittings very dated – apart from the sink and a small ledge at the end of the bath, there was no shelving, no door hooks, no mixer tap, no cupboard for toiletries and the bathroom radiator is also exceedingly hot – be careful with regard to children. The hot water ran out before the bath was full. The only place to put stuff like spectacles, clothing etc was on the toilet, which is obviously not ideal! The shower had an old fashioned plastic shower curtain, which has seen better days! The inclusion of a rubber bathmat was good though. Bed was not that comfortable. Next to river Tay, however no direct views as the river bank has been built up for flood defences. Not great for walking as the old railway bridge was closed for repairs. Limited paths next to the river. The Logierait Inn next door is only open for food 3 days per week, and even then it closes at 1530. Unfortunately, it is not run as a pub anymore, which is a pity as would have been great place to walk to in the evening for a Babycham or two!

This was a very mixed experience as they’re doing so much right here. Our Dee lodge was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed practically, even a dishwasher! We were able to stream tv no problem, there’s good WiFi and general phone coverage. Loved the artwork, and turning on the twinkling tree living room light made it feel magical. Gorgeous views across to the hills. But - and it’s a big but - the bed wasn’t comfy, I had to sleep on the sofa part of the time (a first for me as a regular traveller). We ended up leaving a day early because of this. Very loud creaky floorboards in the bedroom and bathroom, especially around the toilet, need fixing ASAP. Until this is done this cabin should really only be rented out to single travellers or to those who can sleep through anything. Hopefully these areas can be fixed, the owners deserve to be successful.
