BEST WESTERN CRIANLARICH HOTEL

Hotel is well and centrally located for hicking along the West Highlands and as a crossing-over to the north of Scotland. Restaurant is stylish old fashioned and a small cozy bar. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room (our room 222) was brightly old fashioned and rather shoddy with a too small bed for 2 p., further dusty carpet and crooked hung curtain. The bathroom was OK but had a firm mold stain next to the shower which made the whole room smell musty. No heating in the chilly bathroom which kept towels damp. Price/quality the room was way too expensive (320 £/2nights inc breakfast).

I recently visited this hotel with a tour company. It was 23 people altogether. I can honestly say that I felt like the poor relativevisiting the rich one. Paper napkins for dinner instead of the cloth ones at the rest of the dining room received. When commenting on this one of the servers he said there wasn’t enough napkins for the dining room however the night of our last dinner they were setting up thedining room for regular dining the next night and lo and behold they suddenly had enough cloth napkins for everybody. There were no tissues in the room and no shampoo advise the receptionist. I hadn’t been given any tissues at which point she told methe tissues were only for the premium rooms. I did ask her but it only the premium room guests that had runny noses. She was amused. Wine service was available at the table for the regular dining room, but we had to go and get our own winefrom the bar. I definitely would not recommend this hotel in anyway shape for Best western you need to get on the ball.

This was a very pleasant experence and a very pleasant surprise. Felt was very good value for the money for the level of facilities.
