Queensbridge Hotel

I was put in the annexe with my dog, which is a converted garage at the back of the hotel. The room was damp and smelt horrible. Everything in the room felt damp, armchair, bedding, pillows etc. I mentioned it to the staff and they said put the heating on but it was 20*c outside. The bathroom smelt of Tom cat pee 😩 The chap on reception was friendly enough. Breakfast was in the basement, stairs very steep to get down there.

Do not book - dishonest and completely let us down. I booked this hotel in April for September for my husband and son as a birthday treat because they were going to enjoy the rally. Paid a reasonable price. I then emailed the hotel to confirm that they could provide a twin room as it was a father and son going. My husband then phoned the hotel the week before they arrived to question about the parking and make sure that this was sorted. Then on the morning of the booking my husband and son were driving four hours from London to Wales and the hotel contacted us to tell us that they have no booking in our name! They said that there is no room for the night and my husband was already on the road going to Wales for our son’s birthday. They said that Hotels.com, who I’ve booked it with, had not informed them of the booking but this was a lie. They said we would have to stay anywhere else in Wales that night but as there was a rally on there was no rooms available anywhere. They do have a sister hotel, but they didn’t even offer to book that for us and move us over there- they said sort yourselves out. We contacted Hotels.com who actually were superstars! Hotels.com told us that this hotel had told them that they were having maintenance work and that is why they were not able to honour the room booking but it was 10 am on the day of check-in!!! Clearly this hotel had re-sold our room at a much higher price realising that the town was really busy that night. This is totally unacceptable and I do not trust this hotel at all and do not book it! PS. Credit to Hotels.com who then booked another hotel in the same village and paid the difference in price themselves and covered breakfast because of the deceipt from this hotel. I am shocked that they are allowed to operate in this way and I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great location with seaview. Decent breakfast, though would be nice if have more options such as some croissants for those who likes light breakfast. Staff is generslly friendly. However, as to housekeeping, its poorly managed. Coffee n teas and drinking bottles are not replenished. So did the toiletries. Misleading information given on the advertisement. Lift only fit for a petite person (Only ONE) at a time and not working properly. A death trap as I was stuck in there, buzzing emergency to seek help to get out!!. The shower is not working properly, some days have hot water, some days none.
