The Hand Hotel

We stayed here for two nights prior to a narrowboat cruise on the Llangollen Canal. The Hand is centrally located In Chirk. Everything in town is within walking distance. Chirk Castle is also a very reasonable walk for the reasonably fit. This is an old building so the rooms are not fully accessible for those with mobility issues. If you are ok with stairs the staff will cheerfully carry your luggage. We found our family room #12 to be clean and comfortable. The staff/owners really made the stay enjoyable. Very friendly and accommodating. They were truly interested in making our stay comfortable.we found the room price to be a good value. The only complaint I would have is our room was not made available to us upon our early arrival. That aside we would definitely stay here again.

We are 3 ladies of a certain age. When we arrived Maz and David couldn’t do enough to help us. We had a laugh while booking in and Maz took the cases up to our family room. Everything was fine in the bedroom but the bathroom was very small and needs an update, as does some other parts of the hotel. We do appreciate the age of this lovely building! Had an evening meal there and then drinks in the bar. They were extremely short staffed but the two of them were brilliant! The locals were very friendly in the bar! WELL DONE BOYS! You deserve a raise ! Thanks. Ann, Linda and Cheryl ❤️

Went for Sunday lunch. Excellent service, very attentive staff. Lunch was excellent. Piping hot. We had 2 turkey dinners. Plenty of meat & veg . Thank you. We will return.
