Peebles Hydro

I can't praise the staff at this hotel, they are so helpful and patient with the children. We love everything about this hotel. We try and stay at least twice a year for a break. We always find it welcoming nothing is a problem.

Relaxing Stay. The hotel was being painted on the outside did not impact on our stay. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Food was good and the Steak meal we had from the grill was lovely. The health suite was very good. Area very clean and wasn’t busy so we could really relax. Towels provided and robes in your room. Lovely view over the hills. Done the air riffle shooting which was great fun would recommend. Not sure if the interior is getting done but the dinning area and bedrooms were tired looking. The material at side of our bed was ripped, don’t expect that when hotel wasn’t cheap to stay at. Hotel is very clean could not fault that and minutes from centre of town.

Just returned from a wonderful, and much need stay at Peebles Hydro. Despite the renovation work that was being done our ground floor window (as a mother, grandmother and retired teacher, I'm used to tuning out sound!) we had a very relaxing time. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable, with a beautiful view of the hills. The bathroom, also spacious and clean, was well thought out: a heated towel rail; a window blind; hooks to hang things on (places to put things - hooray!) and even a chair. Every member of staff we encountered, in all areas, was friendly and helpful. They coped admirably with the 89 strong party of physicists and managed not to let the presence od such a large group affect the smooth running of things for other guests. The Front of House in bars and restaurants were terrific: most were very young, and extremely helpful and efficient. All were working well as a team. I have to mention three of our fabulous young waiters: Isaac, Blaise and the omnipresent Louis. Louis seemed to pop up all over the hotel (always smiling). I did wonder if he was so good at his job they'd cloned him! Our waitress in the grill room, Tatyana, was superb: extremely good at her job and great fun. A special mention too, to John Murphy (Maitre D'?) who missed nothing but clearly cared for and motivated his young team, while making sure that they took care of their guests. I also had a wonderful massage from Chantelle in the Spa. What a treat! Overall, we both felt very looked after and will be back! Thanks to all.
