HAMPTON BY HILTON SHREWSBURY

Located 3 miles outside the centre with a large car park suitable for vans. Check in was very efficient and really friendly staff. No complaints at all. The room however was where things got worse. The rooms are large and a little dated which is usual for this type of hotel but was reasonably clean. Not on par with the usual competition but not a deal breaker. The issues that should have been picked up before putting on sale: The carpet was stained, the tv remote doesn’t work (hence why it was unplugged) so you have to flick channels on the telly itself and the fact that that air con is kept open by a small carton of milk!!! The shower head was also really mouldy and both rooms we had had a faulty temperature control meaning it was severely limited to either roasting or freezing! Not the best!

A great spot for touring Salop with brilliant rooms, lovely staff, free parking. Although breakfast is nice, it gets packed, and grub runs out.

OK for a stopover. Stopped here Friday 4th and Saturday 5th as we had afternoon tea booked for the Saturday at British Ironworks Centre. Stayed in a twin room. However when I tried to push the beds together on the Friday night, I found remains of a previous guests picnic under the bed. Breakfast was OK but on the Saturday people were waiting around for 10 minutes plus waiting for scrambled eggs, bacon etc and when the lady in charge came out she said nobody had told her that these items needed refilling. Sunday breakfast was better but not much. They need a member of staff constantly checking to see if anything needs replacing.
