An excellent experience! We wanted something special for husbands 80th birthday and honestly it could not have been better. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was lovely. Dinner in the Oak Room was made extra special by the service and small happy birthday glitter on the table. The dessert course was a picture on a plate as a birthday message was piped on the plate. We will be returning soon. Thanks to everyone

Such a sorry state of affairs. Everything feels old and broken. Staff are well trained and polite but service was eye wateringly slow. Food was ok, wine was ok, but inflated in price and not reflective of the 4 stars it seems to have once been afforded. The speakers crackle overhead, the spa is tatty, the pool is cloudy, dank and noisy. The room is dated, plain and although larger, not that different to a basic 3 star motel. Honestly, I wouldn’t spend the money here again. It obviously once boasted grandeur and luxury but no more. It feels like the manager is jaded, the budgets are slashed and the Radisson is neglectful of its wards.

This hotel has had a variety of reviews. This is my summary: Location 10/10- I had no idea that Shrewsbury would be so attractive. Albrighton is close by and set in idyllic surroundings. The hotel buildings are also impressive with large grassed areas and a lake. Facilities: 9/10- a good gym and pool area. Excellent rooms for conferences, weddings and for Bridge holidays. Nice large bar areas plus atmospheric dining rooms Room 51- 9/10. We were pleased with the room which clean, very spacious, well equipped and a good walk in shower. Very quietly situated. Our last two holidays were at the RAC club and at IKOS and this was comparable Value for money: 10/10- the DBB rate was highly competitive for a hotel of this stature Bars-9/10. Good atmosphere with smiling and helpful staff adding to the general ambience Staff generally; 9/10-hard working and friendly but stretched and lacking training at times. Room cleaning excellent Breakfast; 8/10- enjoyable offerings with proficient staff in nice surroundings However, the whole place lacked organisation. There were two weddings over the weekend. We were not affected but others were placed over a very noisy ballroom which went on until after midnight. Rm 51 is immune from this noise There were several incidents of very slow service in the restaurant at both lunch and dinner. The fish pie on one night was very much overcooked and the Sunday offering was adjudged inedible by some, including cremated roast potatoes and dreadful chicken. Overall, I still think Albrighton has potential and lots going for it. But it does require better planning and more predictable manning. The hospitality industry under Labour has had a hard time so I prefer to give it four stars in the hope it can capitalize on its assets Sweeping the red carpet occasionally would be a good start-not a great impression initially to see the debris and stains!
