Travelodge Bath Waterside

The location is great, the staff we spoke to also great & helpful. The hotel itself is poor and quite rundown. The outside of the hotel needs a good hosing down and cleaned, the windows in the corridors were so so dirty . Room basic but we expected that but no bathmat, only 1 hand towel for 2 and quilt on bed wrong way round so that opening of cover was on side & not on bottom. Just lacking a bit of care & attention from room cleaners. We stayed Friday & Saturday night & paid £271 so not cheap then breakfast was on top of that. Get the hotel cleaned up and it could be so much better

Hotel is in a good location, but it’s walking distance to various restaurants and city centre. Parking is easy and not pricey, just need to re validate parking at reception. The hotel itself should be closed down we had 5 rooms for a 3 night stay. None of the rooms had been cleaned, all throughout our 3 night stay the bin wasn’t emptied, we had to ask for fresh towels at reception everyday, clean mugs and anything else that would normally be done on a day to day in other hotels. Our room itself was very dirty when we checked it, luckily we had brought some anti bacterial wipes with us. The bathroom had stains hairs, and the room just stank of BO and damp. The windows are very dirty with no nettings so you need to close the curtains for privacy as our room overlooked the walking paths. It was one of the hottest days we understand that there was no air con but we could barely breathe when the windows are restricted to how much they can open. We really struggled with our stay, especially when the room overlooks walking paths and a swamp with greenery of you struggle with hayfever then you will not get any sleep. We did raise our complaints at reception, and again when we checked out. We were provided with an email address with no hope, and infact being advised that customer services will not help, travel lodge head office have visited the hotel and are happy with it, and that our compliant will not be heard. Really disappointing customer service - but I will never stay at a travelodge again.

Great location with 24 hour parking so you can explore the city easily. The reception and restaurant staff were very pleasant and super helpful. Would stay again if visiting Bath by car.
