We stayed at Travelodge Bath Waterside for one night as a family of three (husband, wife and our 8-year-old son), and we had a really enjoyable stay.
On arrival, we had no trouble finding a parking space. At £10.50 for 24 hours in Bath city centre, we thought the parking was very reasonably priced.
We received a warm welcome from Jamie on reception, who was friendly and efficient, making check-in quick and easy.
Our room (411) was spacious, spotless and very comfortable. We were especially pleased to find that two fans had already been provided, which kept the room cool and pleasant despite the unprecedented heatwave. It's unfair to blame any hotel for temperatures like we've been experiencing, and Travelodge had clearly done what they could to make guests comfortable. We all slept brilliantly thanks to the comfortable beds and pillows.
Breakfast the following morning was exactly what you'd expect from a buffet breakfast, with a good selection of food. Maisie, the waitress, was fantastic. She happily replenished anything that was running low when guests asked and was especially lovely with our 8-year-old son, which we really appreciated.
My only minor suggestion for improvement would be to add more power sockets in the rooms. There were only two double sockets, and with two of those being used for the fans, there wasn't much left for charging devices.
The only other tiny issue was when our son decided to hide under the bed and emerged with an empty toothpaste tube that had obviously been missed during cleaning. However, when we looked underneath, the area had clearly been vacuumed and was otherwise spotless, so we completely understand that the occasional oversight can happen.
Overall, this was excellent value for money. The hotel was clean, comfortable, the staff were outstanding, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. We'd happily stay here again.

This hotel was great for a brief stay travelling by train. We arrived before check in but were able to leave our bags. Hotel is in a preferable location away from the city centre bars. The room and ensuite was clean and fresh. It was on the shady side of the hotel so not too hot. However, very early the next morning, Friday, there was a lot of noise from bins being emptied and laundry delivery. The breakfast was poor for £11 , cooked bacon looked off-putting and no fried eggs. Standard sliced bread for toast and basic croissants. I did enjoy the porridge pot though and a pleasant outlook.

We have stayed in this Travelodge quite a few times and it’s got worse and worse!
We stayed for 2 nights and the room was unbearably hot, even through this hot weather there is no such thing as air conditioning. The room was also very noisy and the toilet blocked as soon as we got there.
We were told the bar doesn’t open until 3! It always used to be open at 12 but not anymore. I went down to the bar at 3.15 and the place was deserted, 2 or 3 staff members walked past and didn’t say a word so I walked to reception to ask if anyone was available and was told the bar was closed! No explanation why, just closed! The whole place seems very tired and run down now. We won’t be returning!
