We stayed at the Lordleaze for 4 nights in room 26, and were disappointed with the accommodation. This hotel has rightly got good reviews for their excellent food, and the staff were pleasant, and doing their best, especially the lovely lady on reception. We appreciated the provision of good teas and coffees, the daily jug of water, and the heater, which we did switch on in the evenings However, the dressing table in our room was covered with a sticky residue, and the bathroom left much to be desired, with cracked tiles and washbasin, and bath panel which was coming apart at one end, and a discoloured floor which looked as if it needed a good scrub. We gather that the hotel has some refurbished bathrooms, and we wonder why, as guests booking for a 4 day stay, why we weren't given a better room. Saving grace were the evening meals which were delicious, although breakfast was a bit hit and miss .

This was our second visit and we hope that it won't be our last. Yes the hotel needs a lick of paint here and there but our was very clean and comfortable, the staff friendly and exceptionally helpful and the food is excellent. BTW the beer is good as well.

It’s a friendly hotel and we enjoyed our stay. Our rooms were comfy, clean and quiet. The bathrooms looked quite recently refurbed. The bedrooms and some of the hallways could do with a repaint but this is a minor thing. The staff were friendly and very helpful. There was a nice basket of teas, coffees and hot chocolates in our room which was a nice touch. I’d definitely stay again.
