Holiday Inn Express Taunton

This HIG was pretty good considering its location by the business park and roundabout. It was in an odd location and lots of weirdness. The reception, bar and lounge are all one large space. The restaurant was next to it and merged into another side room. The room location was like a maze and had characters which we liked and a good use of the corridor with some seatings. There was no black pudding with breakfast, unfortunately. Our room was spacious on the ground floor. Our bed was luxurious as you can see big enough with another pillow in the middle! We have not stayed in this hotel for a few years, but it still excellent and fulfilled all our needs for a stopover. Compared to the Premier Inn at Newton Abbot where we were the night before, it offers excellent value at half the price. A nicely laid-laid room with all the facilities you need.

This is a great budget hotel for a night or two. Rooms are clean and practical. Breakfast free so no frills but fine for a quick bite. We were checked in by Amy who was very helpful and gave us some fresh milk later in the evening and extra tea bags for our room as well as served us a drink from the bar. Free parking for guests as well, make sure you enter your car registration at the reception desk. Harvester restaurant next door and around a 25 minute walk into town. If we needed a quick stopover hotel in the area we would have no problem staying here again.
