Holiday Inn Taunton M5/J25

We stopped here on the way down to Cornwall to help break up our journey. The location was ideal, just being off the motorway junction and very easy to get to. The lady on front desk was so friendly and spent a lot of time chatting with our boys (4years old). She gave them little wrists bands and a token to get something free. We stayed in a King Standard with a Sofa Bed and found the room perfect. It was very clean and well presented. Both beds were very comfy. We were a little worried when booking that it would be noisy but it was surprisingly quiet in the hotel and we couldn’t heard any traffic from outside. The breakfast in the morning was nice, we had pre booked the buffet style breakfast which suited us well. Our boys have a milk intolerance so it was nice that alternative milks were offered. My only negative about the breakfast was the apple juice tasted watered down and wasn’t very nice. The hotel also additional facilities such as a gym and swimming pool but we didn’t use these. The lady at the front desk informed us that adults could use the pool at any time but we would need to book if going in with the boys. This was to manage how many children were in at any point which I think was quite good as it helps all guests. Overall we had an amazing stay. While it was a little more expensive than what we would normally pay I think the room was value for money and appreciate that you pay for all the additional things that are on offer.

This hotel is great for a layover on a way to the west of the country. It serves good food and tasty menu choices. The room was luxurious and bed was extremely comfortable. As you can see, three pillows fits across the bed and it was big and comfortable. I slept so well!! The room air condition was not too noisy either. Only minor drawback: no sanitation or hygiene set. No water in the room. WiFi was poor. And the decider, no black pudding at breakfast!

Overnight stay on long journey down to Cornwall. Very comfortable accommodation at a reasonable rate. Great night’s sleep.
