FAIRFIELD HOUSE HOTEL

Stayed here for two nights to attend wedding in Maybole. Staff all nice and food in restaurant was lovely. Rooms very old and in need to refurbishment. Our room wasn’t within the main building. We were given the “Carrick” room which is right next to the leisure centre. It has its own front door from the car park. The room was okay. No fridge in room and bed very small. Also, we had friends staying at same hotel and they were initially given a room with a small frosted window so no actual clear window. They did complain and were given new rooms.

Disappointing to say the least. I stayed at this hotel with my husband and 2 kids (7 & 12 yrs) for a family wedding in early July. We were really excited when allocated a room on the ground floor called "Martin" as this is my husbands name. On entering the excitement turned into disappointment, the state of the floor was shocking and appalling to expect paying guests to stay in that room. Extremely stained and dirty floor it needs a new flooring, it was hard to walk bare feet seeing the state of that floor. The pillow was non existent, no feel to it, it was more comfortable to sleep on the mattress, the worse hotel night sleep I ever had, I wanted to leave early!!! Location - Ideal for wedding at Brig o' doon but choose another location if you want comfort. The sea front is close by but it was raining and windy when we visited. Atmosphere - None, boring. Food - OK but pricey for what was offered for dinner. The breakfast continental part was ok, the jam and croissant was delicious. The full Scottish breakfast was disappointing, especially being in Scotland I was expecting local produce for the bacon, black pudding and sausages, this was not the case. The oil used to cook the breakfast had a funny smell and taste. Value - Not worth what we paid , the only benefit for the kids was the heated pool. Staff - Friendly enough. Noise level - Not an issue

Weve been to the Fairfield a few times and saw its been taken over by RAD group. Weve stayed in a few so know the quality. Decided to revisit to see if upgrade had been finished. Nope. Still the same tatty bedrooms ,chipped paint on corridors and worn carpets. We wont revisit because its been almost 3 years renovating and nothing seems to have happened. Maybe we are unfortunate re room allocation🤨. Downstairs areas are fine as is food . And staff nice though must be disheartening for them knowing the rooms are poor. We had RAD points to use but system was down. 😵‍💫
