Stayed here as close to Yorkshire wildlife park, in a family room (2 adults/3 kids). The room was spacious but very tired looking, poor standard of housekeeping. Dirty carpets, sticky surfaces and very dusty skirting boards/radiators. Beds were comfortable but the sofa bed was like a thing of torture. Pool was great but just a heads up no shallow end so little ones are unable to stand up, my tall 9 year old could just about keep his chin out of the water on his tip toes. Room service so slow and then they forgot the drinks. My husband could not fit under the shower it came up to his chest only, great if you are a hobbit 😂. Overall its okay and did for the 1 night, but I wouldn't stay again.

Ideally suited us. Well located for our family. Peaceful setting in pleasant grounds (with rabbits!). The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Great shower. All the facilities we needed. Refreshing freedom from “hotel art” and cardboard standup ads etc. Two armchairs. Window that opened for fresh air (thank goodness not aircon or recycled air). Didn’t really care about dated window frames. Fan available. Good value deal. Good simple plain food. All staff friendly and professional. Decent value with our deal. Above all blissful Fretwell spa for massage, great pool etc and friendliest Aqua class I’ve ever been to. Downside: got lost a few times. Like being in a maze.

Arrived late and in the dark so took a little a while to get our bearings. Car park leaves a short walk to reception. Nice and clean as you walk in. Explained we'd been in a Premier Inn the last few nights, to which we were told the rooms are just like that here....was surprised by this. Got into the room. Very dusty. The chair was so dirty we told our daughter not to sit in it. Black arms! Bathroom was recently upgraded but the extractor fan was thick with dust. Beds weren't great and collapsed at the sides. Pool was open till 10pm and was lovely and warm! A real plus for this site.
