Very disappointing, stayed 2 days, Didn't know about building work going on, drilling all day so had to go out, rang reception and asked how Long this noise going on they said 5.30, no apologies. Found most reception staff except 1, unfriendly and not helpful. Breakfast looked nice but food was warm not hot, coffee tasted stewed as had been sat there for 2 hours. The balcony was open to all balconies so no privacy, air con was not great either, all in all underwhelming, won't stay at another signature hotel paid nearly £300 for 2 nights, does it compare to well to other hotels, reception staff need to look like they care about there customers!

I stayed here for 6 nights, the lady on reception called Emily was incredible rude and patronizing. I asked for a late check out to which she said she could do till 12 but it would be a £30 charge! £30 for a hour later checkout is ridiculous. I’ve had a late checkout here till 12 before whilst it’s been the sandyman complimentary before and this Emily, said no complimentary for you and smirked at me, she was giving extremely rude attitude. I have stayed in this hotel numerous times before for work and this is my first awful experience. After this I will not be likely to return in the future. The customer service was awful. I also requested a fan with the same person early in the week and then had to go back to ask someone else to get it as she told me there was none and there is no air con in this hotel.

First impressions as still here. Pre stay comms, received £20 a night upgrade offers for the room already booked and details of local attractions in Edinburgh. Room not ready at 3:00 but pretty soon afterwards so no big deal. All the first floor closed for building work so nice bar and terrace no longer there just the ground floor space. Dog friendly which generally is good but crusty old dog poo on your veranda less so. Room lighting as reported by others is just crazy otherwise rooms are fine. Pool is busy as it is summer but nice enough. TV very limited and coffee machine doesn't work Maybe nice in the future depends what the plans are for the first floor. At the moment if we wanted a swimming pool would choose the Novotel or if not the adjacent Holiday Inn.
