We arrived & were able to check In straight away ( it was around 4pm ) check in was straightforward and we paid the additional £3 for the car park. We were also given WiFi codes / barrier exit codes and given the times for breakfast - this is included in all stays.
Our room was located on the 3rd floor. A nice size room with a sofa / wardrobe / full length mirror / iron / kettle / hairdryer etc.
The bathroom was great with a big steam free mirror and double shower although the mirror got very hot!
There is the option to choose your own temperature ( hot / cold ) in the room.
The only negative would be the bed was a very small double- we are very much used to most hotels offering a king / super king - but this was just a small thing and we were only spending 1 night at the hotel.
Breakfast was quite busy but everything was topped up. Tea / coffee and juice to drink and then the option of Cereals / plain croissants / toast and then the option of beans / eggs / bacon and sausage - these has been slightly over cooked!
For a 1 night sleepover I would stay again / recommend.

I stayed here in a family room with my 3 kids. There was plenty of parking and the Ibis hotel is next door. Parking is £5 per night. Check in was fast and the staff were friendly.
Our room was very small, probably the smallest family room I’ve had in any hotel. I Joe stay don’t think it was suitable or big enough to accommodate 4 people. The shower room is a very tight squeeze, no good if you are on the large size. There was one double bed and a small sofa bed. Tea and coffee were provided and there was a tv, iron and hairdryer.
It was 28 degrees outside and the room was like a sauna, no fan or air con. The window also only opened a small amount. When it was open the noise from the A38 dual carriageway right next to the hotel was so loud it kept me awake. I didn’t sleep much at this hotel, even a motorway hotel would be further away from the road. The breakfast is included and was okay. Sausages, bacon, eggs, beans and hash browns. There was bread, croissants, fruit and cereal. It a huge selection, but it was okay for the price we paid.
There was a Morrisons close by and it wasn’t far from burton on Trent centre. I don’t think I’d stay again due to the size of the room. I’d rather pay a similar price and stay in a premier inn. The rooms are bigger and just seem better quality than this holiday inn express.
