Days Inn by Wyndham Stafford

This was our second stay and stopped for 2 nights. The lady at check in was friendly and efficient and made sure we signed in the car for 2 days free parking. The room was spotlessly clean which is our main priority. The bed was comfy and we had everything we required, including a fan as we needed it during this warm weather spell. When I required more tea and milk, I just asked and it was provided, no problem. It’s also very handy for the adjoining services. When we are visiting family again in future. We’ll make this our base.

Stayed here as a stop over on our way to London and honestly, wished we hadn't. We chose the Days Inn purely for convenience, as it was perfectly situated for our needs. I will start with the positives, plenty of free parking, Macdonalds next door and the staff we encountered were lovely, but the room was awful. On entering there was a very strong, musty, damp smell and the room looked dingy. The walls were all streaky, as though someone had wiped away mold, but not done a good job. There was a layer of dust on all the headboarding, tv and chair. The curtains looked like they needed a hot wash and the carpet needed shampooing. The light fitting between the beds had no light bulbs in it and the wall under it had not been painted. My daughter went for a shower and within minutes the bathroom floor was completely flooded and we had to use the towels to soak it up, I thought at first she hadn't pulled the curtain across properly, but then when I went for a shower, it happened again. On closer inspection, realised it was because the shower curtain wasn't waterproof and water was literally pouring through it. The electric fan had not been PAT tested since 2022 which was quite concerning and overall, I felt the room was a bit of a health and safety hazard! We definately would not stay here again. I have attached photos and would suggest if you do decide to stay, you avoid room 26, and maybe have a good read of the reviews. I would also ask management, not to respond with 'thank you for your feedback' because this solves nothing and is quite un- helpful.

Lovely staff. Very friendly and helpful. Room clean and nice bed. Should have been a good stay. However the only food available was McDonalds. Also walls are very thin and I was woken up at 0330 by the couple next door who were arguing and using very offensive language. Their argument went in in and out of their room, up the corridor and also outside my window. They argued for over 2 hours so I had no sleep. Also as a lone female travelling for business I did not feel safe. Would not visit again.
