My husband and I were at Cromlix House today for Afternoon Tea. The hotel and surroundings are beautiful but we were disappointed with Afternoon Tea. Firstly there were no sandwiches and the savory options of Pastrami with Sauerkraut, Smoked Salmon on dry rye bread along with a beetroot tart were not to our liking. The sweet options however were delicious. We also had included champagne with our deal and received half a glass for £69.50 each which was disappointing.

Organised dinner in Cradle to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. From beginning to end, staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating - even booking a taxi in advance to take us to and from Dunblane. The hotel itself is stunning, standing in its own beautiful grounds. We were impressed with the facilities being offered to guests including use of Barbour wellies and jackets and Cromlix tennis balls for doggies. Cradle is a small, intimate restaurant with only 16 covers. Decor is tasteful. Had a wee sneaky look at the Garden Room, very bright and tasteful too. Dinner was perfection - a 7 course tasting menu and wine pairing. A lot of emphasis on produce grown in their own grounds, each course beautifully presented. Service was impeccable. I would say that, all combined, this is on a par with many top end Michelin establishments. Bearing in mind that this is a relatively new restaurant, I’m expecting to see great things for them in the future. We had a wander round the public areas after dinner, including the chapel (complete with all original features). Bar area and reception area are comfortable and beautifully decorated. Hope to be back soon.

We were at Cromlix for dinner and the setting is beautiful. Unfortunately the main course let it down. The steak was tough and chewy. Starters were nice though.
