Stirling Highland

We loved our stay here. It is very centrally located in the heart of Stirling, just a short walk from the castle. It's a beautiful building. It used to be a school. There is an observatory on the roof but it's not accessible. The breakfast was delicious. Buffet style. We didn't have dinner there but the bar serves a nice cold pint. The parking was also very handy. Note: there is no air conditioning. It's an old building. We were there on a very hot day for Scotland and the room was uncomfortably hot. Oh well. All staff were very professional and accommodating. Very nice people. Thank you for sharing your beautiful hotel and city with us. It's a better castle than Edinburgh too. 😉

This is the only hotel I have ever stayed in which has a swimming pool but charges guests extra for using it. I won't be back.

We were deeply disappointed by the poor state of our room. The cleanliness was non-existent. The bathroom was covered in cement dust, with pieces of grout and wall coating left scattered all over the floor. The soap dispensers were completely empty, and the window sills were thick with dust, looking like they hadn’t been wiped down in a very long time.The comfort was just as bad. The beds were incredibly old, and the mattresses were so worn out that they sloped heavily toward the centre, leaving us feeling the springs all night. To make matters worse, our bed sheet had a massive tear in it that was about a metre long.When we brought these issues to management, the staff offered absolutely no compensation or solution. I can only assume this sub-standard, dirty condition is their normal benchmark for guests. Avoid this place.
