Great hotel for an overnight stop off when travelling with Buisnees . Clean , comfortable room and very helpful staff on the reception .

Just a bit of an odd experience staying here. I was here for 2 nights for work. The location in between the places I needed to visit was ideal. But that was about the only good thing. On arrival there was a little confusion but it got settled quickly and I went off to the room. It's one of those rooms where you need a card in a slot for anything to work. I get why, but in this case it caused issues as the fridge was not cold and the air con didn't work. As I discovered after leaving the second card they gave me in the slot when working the next day, by the time I got back both the air con and fridge were working fine. Just a heads up if staying for one night - they won't work properly. The bed felt slightly collapsed at the top end on both sides. Sitting on it fell like you might fall through. On my own in a double so I slept in the middle and it was reasonably comfortable. Breakfast. Well, they oversell this a bit to put it mildly. The promise is "Eggs just the way you like them". Well so long as you like scrambled eggs, overcooked to the texture of rubber, then I guess that's true but no other eggs were on offer. Sausages looked anaemic and frankly appalling. Bacon had clearly sat there for a long time and was chewy and tough. Baked beans cold. All in all a total waste of time and I didn't bother the next day. Really poor. Evening meals - restaurant was totally empty at all times. They are just changing a Pizza Express next door to a Wagamama but it's not finished yet more's the pity. So if you want a restaurant it's Nando's or nothing at the moment really. The whole hotel is just depressing. Even when busy it feels totally empty. The rooms and corridors just feel somewhat worn and unpleasant. Don't believe the breakfast hype!
