Staying with a family member meant using the sofa bed, felt like I was going to collapse all night long as there was a dip at the bottom meaning I kept falling down the bed give the worst night sleep. We were woken at midnight by other loud guesses. As we arrived at 6pm all the later breakfast slots were booked so we had to be in for 8am. The breakfast wasn’t all that. lucky I only asked for one item to be removed but my cousin selected only four items which didn’t come out correctly, toast was put on the plate which was something they don’t eat due to the gluten but we didn’t make a fuss. For both ordering a full English I got two eggs and one sausage but for my cousin it was the other way round. I was ask how a wanted my eggs but the presumed my cousin wanted the same. Not great customer service at all, I’m glad we had eaten dinner else where the night before

Location, excellent accommodation Clean substantial, AIR CON much appreciated at this time of year. Wi-Fi flaky at best. Friday night staff outstanding.. Saturday morning, breakfast staff, not so with it. Sloth-like approach, unfriendly, no morning greetings, breakfast is served between 8 and 11 am. We got there for 9 am and found no yoghurt no fruit, pastries all gone, no milk.. I appreciate the early morning 2:4 young family diners, but no excuse for not replenishing stock for other patrons.. (still no stock by 10 am) Only milk got replaced. A cooked breakfast order was taken. (the eggs are excellent) Eventually the coffee came was cooler than lukewarm, by 9:45 am we requested a coffee top up which arrived promptly but was more watered down than the original offering. Slightly disappointing given all the + signs from the night before. Usual pub standard fair on the menus anyway, but if you’re passing through, and need somewhere to stay thoroughly recommend it!

Expensive and no attention from staff We were the only ones eating inside and had to ask where our food was after 1 hour. To make it worse a service charge was added but we ordered at bar ourselves and nobody asked how our meals were etc. Standard chicken and chips £20. Wont come back.. shame as its such a pretty pub in a nice setting
