Gainsborough Lodge

Worst place ever website is completley miss leading , my pictures were taken two days ago, this place should be condemed , if it were inspected it would be shut down instantly, filth everywhere, they are doing some kind of DIY remodel , and it looks like they dont have a clue what they are doing, bare wires hanging out of the walls, flooring unfinished some tile , some foam flooring, the exterior is so dangerous, broken pavers everywhere , piles of junk dirty towels and bedding laying all over the place, i booked on line the pictures on line are a 1000% misrepresentation, my pictures are actually what it looks like.i took one step in the room there were urine stains on the sheets mold on the net curtains and it smelled like someone had sprayed 5 can of air freshner in there i immediately went back to what was supposed to be the reception and said politely there is no way that i am staying here and i would like to cancel and have a refund i was told bluntly no refunds , so here i am forwarning other people so they dont get ripped off like have been. I have traveled all over the world i am a 60 year old grand father i must have stayed probaly two to three hundred different hotels , motels and guest houses , this is without a doubt the worst place i have seen in my life.

Horrible unhealthy breakfast - just white bread toast, very thin ham slices and thin cheeses slices. Sugary yoghurt. Felt like they weren't trying very hard. No cooked breakfast!

We stayed at gainsborough on our first and last night in the UK. it was pleasant, clean and decent, the staff were friendly and it is highly accessible and cheap for Gatwick flights. We used the local buses at 6pm and at 6am FASTWAY 100/200 in both directions (3gbp each) takes less than 10 mins to either terminal. the taxi service is now a monopoly charging 22gbp for less than 5 min car journey. Horley is a great town!
