The Star Inn

Another lovely stay at the Star Inn. We booked for 2 nights to attend Lingfield races. We had breakfast and dinner on both days, and both were excellent. Breakfast in particular was so good, and definitely worth the money. Most staff were really friendly and helpful, just one star knocked off for the rather sullen staff member at check in, pity because that such of behavior leaves a poor first impression! Otherwise, our stay was lovely and we will definitely return and recommend to others.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to make a formal complaint about our recent experience at your venue. We were extremely disappointed by the behaviour of one of your employees. While we were discussing ice cream, the employee accused us of stealing. She then snatched the ice cream from us and spoke to us in a very rude and disrespectful manner, saying, “Who do you think you are? You know better.” We felt embarrassed and upset by the way we were spoken to, especially as we felt we had been treated as though we had done something wrong without being given the opportunity to explain ourselves. We were also very disappointed with the Ibiza-themed event. Unfortunately, the music and sound quality were extremely poor, and we could barely hear the music or the DJ for much of the event. This made the experience very disappointing, particularly considering what we had expected from the event. Overall, the experience was not what we expected, and we feel that both the staff member’s behaviour and the quality of the event should be addressed. We would appreciate it if you could investigate what happened and respond to our complaint. Ps the employee was Elsie

We stayed, as a family of 8, for adults and 4 children. We have stayed numerous times. We had both internal rooms and the exterior rooms. All room were perfect, they were spacious and clean. We had an evening meal which was lovely. The children’s play area kept our smaller children entertained. We also had breakfast which was good value. Very good value for money en route to airport.
