Not a great experience for the price.

I loved this Pub especially spring or summer near the river. We went this April had a few drinks and decided to stay for Sunday Roast. First they served a glass of wine from an open bottle that didn’t taste well, we said and they changed it. The roast dinner was Lovely. However we were very annoyed to learn that “service it’s not included” and service was added to your bill around 15% of the total bill. When the waitress brought the bill and she gave me the machine, the machine said add tip! So I did not realised and added my tip, so that came to 25% tip in total. When I realised I ask to be refunded, but I think it’s deceitful and extortionate. Especially because They know this is happening and charging people service twice!!! I won’t be going there again

The Swan Hotel is situated around three quarters of a mile from Staines station just across Staines Bridge. It is nicely located on the banks of the Thames with decent views across the river. I visited to have some drinks prior to watching a football match at nearby Wheatsheaf Park. I was pleasantly surprised to find that ale was priced at £4.25 per pint on Tuesdays, the day of my visit. Gale’s Seafarers, Fuller’s London Pride and London Porter were all sampled and were in great condition. I was impressed by the service and the cleanliness with staff continually cleaning the empty tables.
