Hilton Newcastle Gateshead (I)

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. The rooms are huge. The beds are comfortable, there’s a great view of the Tyne Bridge, the castle and the quayside area of Newcastle. The location is good as you’re only a 10-15 minute walk into town. The pool is great, very clean. Staff are lovely. The only complaint that I have are the pillows and the fact you sink into them. There’s not a lot of support in them. Other than that would recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead, but what really made the experience stand out was the incredible team. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, welcoming and genuinely helpful. A special mention goes to the lady in the Executive Lounge, who could not have been more attentive. She was incredibly friendly, always checking that guests had everything they needed and made us feel truly valued throughout our visit. The breakfast team also deserve recognition. Saturday morning was exceptionally busy, yet the staff remained cheerful, professional and attentive despite the pressure. It was great to see such positive attitudes and excellent customer service even during a hectic breakfast service. A huge thank you to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We recently spent three nights at the Hilton Newcastle and had a fantastic stay. We treated ourselves to an upgrade to a balcony room, and it was well worth it. The views were absolutely stunning and made our stay even more enjoyable. The Executive Lounge was excellent. The staff were genuinely warm and welcoming, the selection of food and drinks was well stocked throughout, and everything we tried was delicious. Breakfast each morning was also excellent, with plenty of choice and great quality. My only small criticism relates to the room upgrade at check-in. I was told that payment could only be made using a physical bank card, which seemed a little odd as everywhere else in the hotel I was able to pay using my phone. I no longer carry a bank card with me, so I was sent a payment link and expected to manually enter all my card details while standing at reception with a queue of people behind me. I had to ask if I could complete the payment in my room instead, which thankfully wasn’t a problem. It’s only a minor point, but I can’t imagine I’m the only person these days who relies on mobile payments rather than carrying physical cards. That aside, we had a brilliant experience from start to finish. We’d happily stay here again, and if we’re back in Newcastle, this hotel will be our first choice. Highly recommended!
