Holiday Inn Express Newcastle

We stayed here on a 3 night break. We arrived by 10am on the first day, the lady on reception was extremely helpful and polite and stored our luggage for us. The check on process and receiving our luggage back was very easy. On arrival to our room it smelt, clean and fresh. The hotel is pretty much 10-15minutes walk to most things like, shops, restaurants, night life and metro/bus routes. The breakfast options were fair, the temperature of the hot food could be improved as on the first day it was luke warm at best. If you leave your window open it can be noisy from road traffic, but the room does have air-con so you can sleep with it closed. Shower was powerful and refreshing.

We were on the 5th floor ,corridors and landings very warm with no air con waiting for lifts ,also 1 lift broken , I think this hotel was ok for the money we paid as I got it for £48 a night with breakfast but that was with super.com on trivago not direct with holiday inn...2 single beds which were fine had a ok sleep very warm in rooms air con does help but our room was facing the noisy traffic , breakfast was ok nothing flash ...beans stone cold with luke warm scrambled egg and burnt bacon ...would i stay here again ? Possibly not unless staying other side of building which must be quieter , in my opinion better hotels around the city centre .

Absolutely loved this hotel, rooms were spotless and beds comfy, breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful, special thanks to Olivia on reception who helped us with directions and checked if I was a rewards member (I am but had forgotten!) which allowed us to check in early. Will definitely be back.
