Newcastle Marriott Gosforth Park

My partner and I stayed in Grand Hotel Gosforth for three nights, we had the most wonderful time, comfortable room, wonderful service from Jay, Annie and Rebecca. The Hotel is perfectly placed in green surroundings, comfortable outside seating for enjoying a nice drink, leisure facilities were top class! We used the pool sometimes twice a day! The Hotel is perfectly situated for Horse racing ( Gosforth Park) litilerly a five minute walk to the racecourse. We took advantage of the nearby coastal places, Tynemouth, Whitley bay, North and South Shields!!! So much on your doorstep!!! We would highly recommend Grand Hotel Gosforth.

When the name says Grand, it evokes ideas, like something special….well put those thoughts out of your head, there is nothing special to be found at the Newcastle Grand Gosforth Park Hotel, except maybe a Grand conspiracy to extort you of your hard earned cash. The room I got was grand if you are a rabbit, but I found it excruciatingly small, unbearably hot and unbelievably expensive at £200/night. Let’s see if the famed Geordie hospitality makes some amends at dinner? I hope so……..

I would give this hotel zero if I could. Stayed for two nights and it was terrible. Too hot, too noisy, not a great room. When we complained about the 'air circulation system' not working we were offered no compensation despite the fact that we had a really bad night. The second night was just as bad due to the noise from the party outside. We paid £180 for two nights - really ripped off by a substandard hotel. We then went and stayed in the Travelodge across the road for £33 - much much better!
