Sandman Signature Newcastle

Great location, right next to the metro station, lovely atmosphere, the staff were so friendly and amazing, made us very welcome while there celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary. The room was perfect for what we needed with amazing views of St james park, and king Kevs memorial. The room was very clean and even had a lovely suprise of a bottle of prosecco, chocolates, a card and rose petals, which made our visit even more special. Great value for money.

Ben looked after us, managed to get us an early check in and an excellent room. Felt very well looked after

I want to start with Ben at reception, because he was genuinely the only highlight of this stay. Ben was kind, attentive, and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable in what was honestly a pretty stressful situation. He absolutely deserves a bonus. The hotel itself is a two out of ten for cleanliness. I changed rooms five times, with Ben doing his best to find something acceptable. Every room had issues, hair in the bathroom, smudges on the sink, grimy carpets. Dated is fine, but dated and dirty is a different story. In four days my room was never cleaned once, and towels weren’t changed either. I had to ask twice and eventually go down myself to wait for them. The wardrobe door basically fell on me, the iron had wires visibly coming out of it and I genuinely feared being electrocuted, so I just stopped. Location is fine, central enough. But I won’t be coming back. Ben, thank you, you were wonderful. The rest of the hotel desperately needs a deep clean and basic maintenance.
