Sunderland Marriott

I’ve just spent 6 days at this hotel and want to say that I know the hotel well with being from the area but didn’t expect it to be as good as it was when it was the Marriott . Everyone was so nice and accommodating, especially as it was working trip and I had to find somewhere quiet to work . The only downside was WiFi in the bedrooms - it wasn’t great. Would I stay again ? Absolutely! We are looking forward to a trip back up soon. Lots of places to eat . For food outside of the hotel, try Ember at the sheepfolds especially for Sunday lunch . Book early . Also Bistro Romano in Cleadon Village - small nice Italian .

Stuffy, noisy room. Room far too hot, the fans provided are useless. Road noise was horrendous even once I'd closed the windows. People next door were loud & banging around all night, no sound proofing whatsoever. The bed was hard and you get one lumpy pillow. I pay a hotel was a good night sleep instead I got NO SLEEP. THIS CANNOT BE CALLED A FOUR STAR HOTEL!!!!!! Awful experience would never stay again. Bar food was ok.
