Hazelwood Guest House

This is our 3rd time of stopping here, it's an absolute gem of a B&B. Lovely clean rooms, comfy beds, large fluffy towels and a fabulous breakfast. Tony and Jayne are brilliant hosts and we love staying here. This is everything a B&B should be and we'll definitely be back next year xxx

So had stayed at this hotel a few years ago solo when using it as a cheaper base option to attend a gig in Cardiff. This time I returned with my wife A really weird welcome from the chap behind the reception desk, we were asked in essence what are you doing here? Err you’re a hotel no, what do you think we’re doing here!! A cheery hello is more usual then after stating we had a booking he randomly asked if we had children with us!! Bizarre!! Room we had was dated and in need of a good clean, visible cobwebs at the side of the bed and also on the ceiling and tired paintwork and furnishings. The shower also seemed incapable of delivering hot water for more than about 10 seconds at a time. A fair nights sleep and we sauntered down for breakfast at the time we’d agreed (or so we thought!) to be greeted with “you’re early” Again, no!! We’re down at the time you asked us to be then he claimed he’d said an hour later and please don’t tell anyone so we admitted defeat and sought refuge back upstairs. Quite how this place was ever rated 4 stars by the AA I’d dearly love to know. The glowing other reviews here also baffle me. To end on a plus point however, breakfast on our take 2 time was lovely.

Best B&B in Bridgend stayed 2 nights couldn't believe how immaculately clean the p!ace was,comfy bed, facilities in room were great and due to me being coeliac and other food intolerances they had no problems in catering for me with no problems nothing was too much trouble, if I stay in a chain hotel they cannot facilitate me or I have to take own food. Breakfast was fantastic too much choice Tony and Ann couldn't have been more helpful will definitely be going back thank you for an amazing comfortable stay
