Maldron Hotel Cardiff

I highly recommend this hotel. The location is amazing for night life, the castle is a short 10 minute walk, room was lovely for 3 girlfriends away for 2 nights for my birthday (a beautiful handwritten note left with chocolates left for me to), super clean, we had a bath with an overhead shower which was a lovely surprise. Ice machines on most if not all floors. The breakfast was delicious. Pls to find this hotel for the price we paid. Well value for money is brilliant. The staff really can not do enough for you. A huge shout out to Josh on reception. He on check in became a super addition and knew exactly how to talk to customers at all levels. Thank you for a wonderful time. Definitely be back. Its rare to find a hotel you would 100% return to, but we are already trying to make dates again work for another visit.

At first the service was polite and quick. My first coffee and it was cold so I ordered a tea, which was much better. We made our selection of savoury to compliment the afternoon tea. When it arrived it looked well presented and perfect, on inspecting the sliders rocket and the bread was soggy and old. The wraps were also wet and unpleasant. Very poor expectations of a chef as the food has been prepared the day before and the cakes and wraps were soggy and damp. Strawberries were old and unpleasant. I complained and they did respond but the wraps were sub standard and no cream cheese in sight. Lovely hotel and I had great expectations the food lacked flavour and planning. Despite us being the only two diners no need to prep afternoon tea in advance, scones were warm over dine and the jam was very sweet.

No issues. Only stayed two nights but good location. Check in staff polite and friendly. No issues for the price.
