A return visit. The Swan’s Nest’s central location and car parking are a plus, along with the reception staff, who were unfailingly keen and helpful. We had a warm welcome, including a goodie bag for the dog. The “dog corridor” rooms are a little tired, but there was a comfortable bed, a kettle, a small fridge stocked with fresh water and easy access to the outside to take the dog out. The low point was still breakfast, which looked as if it was as cheap as the hotel thought they could get away with: make-your-own-coffee from a not very good machine, overly sweet, thin orange juice, dry (catering pack?) scrambled eggs with the texture of grated breeze-block and no evidence anyone had used any butter in them. The poached eggs the next day were a bit better, but this was bad value at £14. The Bistro staff were mixed. The Dutch girl did all the work. On arrival I was ignored until I walked further into the room, when a grumpy young man told me I could “sit anywhere”, after which he ignored me again in favour of the Internet; definitely someone in the wrong career.

The swans nest is a delightful hotel, our go to when stopping in stratford upon avon. We stayed twice to break our journey. We were not told that there was building work going on in the hotel. The entrance into the hotel from the car park was closed. We were not notified of this. I have a blue badge and had parked next to this entrance so it was easier to get in the hotel with luggage and my mobility scooter. We had to walk around the hotel to get in the front entrance. It was very dusty where they were working. The first room I was offered had a few steps which I couldnt get my scooter down so we had to ask for another room. The porter was kind enough to take our cases to the new room. It would have been polite to notify people that building work was taking place and the car park door entrance was closed. We would have stayed for another night but I would have had tohave moved room again and would have had to have a room with stairs to negotiate. Its a great location and quite comfy and relaxed. (apart from the building work)

After an horrific night at the Grosvenor hotel we inquired here the next day and got a 2 night stay just. From start to finish just a lovely place from the young lady who checked us in until we left.Bed and breakfast which was lovely with again terrific staff. The room was absolutely spotless and comfortable. Under the same roof is a lovely bar with a great choice of fine beers and enjoyed a few sat in the sunshine on the front. This will now be our go to for any future visits to this beautiful town. Thank you to The Swans Nest you saved our anniversary weekend.
