Best Western Falstaff Hotel

We had a “standard “ room which would have suited single occupancy but not a couple. Only room for one bedside table, nowhere to put suitcases, and the bathroom, although well appointed, a six footer, sitting on the toilet would have their knees against the towel rail, the corner shower is minute. Window frames were mouldy and needed painting. No one seems to eat in the restaurant at night, we were the only two, although the food was extremely good, breakfast was well attended and a good selection. As a Best Western hotel, I was very disappointed and will not be returning.

Excellent Hotel and Staff, staff very friendly and helpful, good room and excellent Breakfast. Very clean and tidy and quiet location, Free Car Parking and a short walk to the Town, BUT BEWARE! Taxi fares are a bit steep for the short distance (about a mile)

Only here for a single night, but what an utter dump. Peeling paint, cracked and broken windows and furnishings. Stained and dirty flooring/carpets. I've never been up and down so many steps tryng ot find my room. I don't know who said this place had been recently refurbished - that must have been sometime in 1880, because the place is not in good condition. The lack of any sort of ventilation is a real issue; even if you can get your window open, it is out onto a main road with noise, so you won't get any sleep anyway. I won't be using this place again at any price - worse than a hostel.
