Holiday Inn Stratford Upon Avon (I)

I’m really disappointed with the condition of the changing rooms and wet areas. A large number of the men’s lockers don’t lock properly, and although signs were originally placed on the broken ones, almost all of them have now been removed. You can’t tell which lockers are faulty until you try them, which is frustrating and completely avoidable. The shower cubicles are even worse. New locks have been fitted to some of the cubicles, but they’re practically unusable — the thumb turn doesn’t move properly, and I actually ended up stuck inside a shower for over a minute because I couldn’t physically unlock it. That’s not just inconvenient, it’s unsafe. I've heard I'm not the only person to become trapped in there, and whilst it was apparently reported no action was taken by maintenance to remove the lock to prevent anyone else getting trapped. Another ongoing issue in the changing rooms is the complete lack of enforcement around basic hygiene. Members are repeatedly warned not to shave in the changing rooms, yet it still happens regularly. It means you end up walking barefoot through other people’s shaved hair, which is both unpleasant and unhygienic. On top of that, someone keeps dyeing their beard in the sinks, leaving dark stains behind that look awful and difficult to then remove the staining and clean properly. It’s unacceptable that these problems continue despite warnings, and it shows a real lack of consequences for the members that keep breaking the same rules. We've all seen the Swan guy shaving, leaving hair everywhere. Although general cleanliness has improved recently, the basic functionality of the facilities is still nowhere near acceptable. For the membership price we pay, the changing rooms and wet areas fall far below the standard they should be. Grouting in the steam room, it's clearly being cleaned now as it's no longer black mould ridden like it was a few months ago, but the grout has fallen out and still hasn't been replaced.

Expensive for 2 nights £300. Dumped on the 3rd floor where the aircon is being replaced, just a little fan ( useless) when it’s 27c outside. Water pressure in shower (useless) get more pressure from my watering can. Fridge in room (useless) think it was warmer inside the fridge than the room itself. Don’t be fooled by the photo of the pool it’s tiny. Breakfast was decent though but that’s about it.For the money find somewhere better.

Just had a two night stay this was our 4th time here. The staff from the cleaners bar staff restaurant staff and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The only niggle was the low water pressure in the shower could do with updating but saying that i would definitely recommend this hotel.
