We went as a family today for Sunday lunch at the carvery. Food was wonderful service and staff were poor and useless. We arrived at 1 when it opened which seemed chaotic. The staff were flustered and appeared unorganised with the amount of people arriving all at the same time. There were 6 adults and 1 child and 1 highchair. We were seated on a table made for 6 adults and it was a complete squash. We kept having to move the high chair to get out for food as there was a table right next to us. We ordered hot starters and were told to go up for salads. We then had to ask them if we could order drinks. I had finished my starter by the time the drinks arrived. The carvery was chaos due to the fact everyone had arrived at 1pm most people went up for food at the exact same time. The plates were kept warm but when I asked for a cold plate for my 4 year old it took 2 of them to sort. The food itself was lovely and very generous portions. Nobody came back to ask us if we wanted more drinks and due to the lack of space we decided to take dessert outside. There are definitely some improvements needed or further training and I feel staggering arrivals would definitely help the staff and the waiting when it comes to food. This was our first return in many years and I feel they are lacking in some touches that would really make it a nicer place. Even my 4 year old commented on the fact the hand soap in the toilet didn’t smell very nice 😂 overall was a poor experience and don’t think I’d rush back

Me and my sister enjoyed an amazing meal at the oak room on the 21st August, can’t fault the food, staff or environment. Was wonderful! Would defo return and try out the rest of the menu as it was so hard to choose but very happy with our starters, main & even room for dessert as we couldn’t resist! We had £36 each to spend from our Wowcher deal which was more than enough to choose a delicious main which was all good value. We had a comfortable stay in one of the twin rooms, the staff made an extra special touch to my sisters birthday adding a happy birthday sign in chocolate with a few little treats on the side, breakfast the next day was very tasty especially the sausages! Can’t vault the staff in the breakfast room always working hard and accommodating to guest. We also got to use the spa area which was lovely and relaxing. Again staff very helpful. We ended our stay having a few cocktails on the lawn which was lovely in the sun and got to witness a wedding taking place. All in all a good night & day. Will definitely return.

A properly run, maintained, staffed and managed family owned hotel. Things one would hope for but rarely find these days. Really enjoyable stay in a hotel that makes you feel welcome and valued. All the staff were engaged, friendly and helpful. A small issue with the showerhead was fixed the next day. Large comfortable room, with a sofa and floor to ceiling curtains. Cotton robes provided. Breakfast was excellent - attentive staff meant no waiting for hot drinks to be brough to the table and everything was restocked quickly. The best bread we've ever had at a hotel breakfast! Fresh grapefruit slices prepared expertly and a very good range of quality hot and cold food. Swimming pool area was very well maintained. The terrace is a delightful place for drinks and the restaurant was stylish yet comfortable. Very good food and very good waiting staff. Quiet location but easy access to Birmingham. Would definitely want to stay here again.
